A CA accredited Advanced Coach, Viv has over a decade’s professional coaching experience spanning three countries. Recently concluding a successful term as High Performance Coach for Malaysia Cricket, he leads Rubicon’s service team. Viv specialises in youth batting and fielding, utilizing personal experience leading a Darlot Cup Championship, WA u19 & u17 national campaigns, and an All-Australian Universities Championship. A senior playing career spanning three professional seasons in the UK & 100 WACA Premier cricket games also serves as vital knowledge for future elite cricketers wishing for a smooth transition into competitive senior cricket.
At the conclusion of a minor counties career for the University of Oxford, Roland played WACA A grade cricket in Perth, WA as wicket-keeper batsman, later turning his attention to coaching both batting and wicket-keeping. With over two decades experience coaching a range of ages, Roland is highly experienced in assessing technical components and their on-field practicality. He now resides in Albany, where he handles the bulk of our service to aspiring cricketers in the Great Southern region of Western Australia.
Mariam is an ex-national track & field athlete, holding until recently the Singaporean national record for triple jump. Her sporting success dictated an academic career in the field, beginning with a BSc from the University of Western Australia. Advancing both her biomechanical and sports psychological expertise, she recently completed her MSc (Sports & Exercise Physiology) from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore and now lectures at university level on sport and wellness. Mariam leads Rubicon’s S&C department, lending her expertise to elite youth cricketers who recognize the link between physical fitness and consistent on-field success.
